What Young People Feel about Accessing Mental Health Services in Newham
During November 2019 we spoke to students at University of East London and young people at National Citizen service to find out about their experiences of accessing mental health services in Newham. One of the main findings was "not being taken seriously, not knowing where to go for help, stigma and fear of being judged, difficulty talking to doctors and concerns over confidentiality." Review of Access and Quality of Dental Practices in Newham
During August and September 2019, staff and volunteers visited 21 dental practices to assess the quality of the service once an appointment was obtained. We found that practices declined emergency appointments for walk-in patients due to capacity, which highlighted concerns around the availability of appointments in the borough.
