The Council has teamed up with ABB FIA Formula E and a host of other organisations for fun-filled events to mark Clean Air Day on Thursday June 16 at Newham Dockside.
Clean Air Day

Thursday 16th June, 12pm - 5pm
Council teams will be joined by Formula E, Asthma + Lungs UK and Repowering London to raise awareness of air quality, and how air pollution, especially dangerous emissions from vehicles, damages our health and the environment. It will highlight the simple steps that can be taken to protect both, such as using sustainable transport like cycling, recycling more and reducing energy use and food waste.
The specialist stop smoking service, Quit Well Newham will also be at the event providing people with information about the service and encouraging smokers to begin their quit journey.
In addition, winners and runner up’s of the No Smoking Day poster competition will be announced with them receiving their prizes during the awards ceremony.

- Find out how to improve energy use at home and save money
- Get your bike fixed for free, or take a quick cycling lesson
- Learn how you can refresh your old clothing using cool water and natural dye
- Meet a nutritionist for information on healthy food that is better for you and the planet
- Try out a simulated Formula E car
