About this event

Young Adults Working Together Group

Zoom Meeting

Monday 1 August 2022, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

There is currently a project going on across three East London boroughs (Newham, Tower Hamlets, and City and Hackney) to improve and transform community mental health services – the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme. One of the particular groups there is a focus on is young adults aged 18-25.

As we want the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme to be co-produced and led by the people who it will impact, who know best what needs to change, we are developing a Working Together Group for young adults who have lived experience of accessing mental health services in Tower Hamlets, Newham or City & Hackney. This will be a space to discuss issues important to young adults, suggest solutions to improve and develop services, and find out more about the various opportunities for co-design and co-production of tailored services for young adults across East London.

Why should I attend the Young Adults Working Together Group?

  • Eligible participants will receive £20 for attending
  • Develop new skills and build your confidence
  • Access training opportunities (e.g. lived experience trainer, interview panel skills)
  • Use your experience to influence new and existing services for young adults in Tower Hamlets, Newham or City & Hackney
  • Make new connections and meet other young adults with similar experiences

Am I eligible to join the group?

Eligible to join the group if you meet each of the following criteria:

  • You are aged 18-25 or you are a carer* for a young adult aged 18-25
  • You (or the person you care for) are currently accessing ELFT mental health services or you have accessed them in the last 12 months
  • You live or have a GP in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney or the City of London.

*By carer, we mean anyone, including children and adults, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support.
