Fear of Cancer Recurrence workshop

Barts Cancer & Palliative Care Psychological Services are running a Fear of Cancer Recurrence workshop jointly with Newham Talking Therapies (IAPT) on Thursday 19th Jan 10.30am-12.30pm at Vicarage Lane Health Centre, E15 4ES.
Macmillan Cancer Support service from Newham University Hospital will be supporting the workshop on the 19th Jan. We would really appreciate if you can help to spread the word and share the attached leaflet to colleagues and appropriate service users. Here are some key information about the workshop:
Who is it for?
The workshop is aimed at adults (18+) living, working or studying in Newham who have completed active cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) with curative intent and are either discharged from the hospital/ under OAFU or being seen intermittently in a follow up clinic.
What can you expect and gain from the workshop?
The content will focus on how it is normal to worry about cancer coming back after treatment, teaching strategies to deal with these worries and flagging up where people can go to get more advice and support if needed (eg their cancer teams, Macmillan, IAPT).
People who won’t be suitable for the workshop (exclusion criteria)
People who are currently undergoing active cancer treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy), People with stage IV/ advanced disease, People who are receiving/ have received palliative treatment
